Teen Reach Adventure Camp
About TRAC
Teen Reach Adventure Camp (TRAC) is geared towards youth ages 12 to 15 who have experienced abuse, abandonment, or neglect, usually residing in foster care. Every TRAC emphasizes self-value, teamwork, healthy values, and personal/team success.
TRAC is more than a fun experience – though it is packed full of fun activities. It’s also much more than an educational outing, although teens will learn from experiences intentionally designed to create moments and memories that teach them teamwork and trust in a safe environment. At TRAC we hope campers will realize their true value and potential, and that they will learn how to make choices that impact themselves and the world in a positive way.
Depending on the year, activities include fishing, swimming, archery, rock climbing, and so much more. Campers will learn how to work with their team on a challenge course and receive individualized attention from their counselors, who are matched with no more than two campers.
On the national level, Teen Reach is a public nonprofit independent from For the Children, though it is endorsed by For the Children. However, TRAC Springfield is sponsored and guided by the Southwest Missouri For the Children chapter.
