Get Involved

Royal Family KIDS Camp Roles

There are many ways you can get involved in your local Royal Family KIDS Camp. Below you will find descriptions of how you can serve the kids in this area. For more information about how to be involved, contact us at swmoftc@gmail.com

The 2023 camp dates are June 19 – 23, 2023. Please join us in making moments matter!

Camp Counselors

The primary role of a counselor is to care and cheer for their campers as they walk alongside them through the daily activities of camp. This role requires energy, patience, love, and a willingness to look beyond your own needs in order to wholeheartedly serve the children in your care. Each counselor is matched with two campers to provide close and individualized care and attention.

Camp Staff

The staff is there to support whatever needs to happen during the week of camp. They also step in to allow the counselors to get daily breaks. This position requires that you are flexible and take initiative to step in when needed. Specialized staff roles include nurse, professional counselor or licensed social worker, and photographer. If you have certification to help in these areas, let us know.

Grandma & Grandpa

(Or aunt & uncle.) Our children need lots of love and attention. Who better than extended family to share this kind of safe attention? Our grandparents and aunts and uncles read stories, help with snacks, sort & deliver camp mail, and cheer campers on during activities.

Teen Counselor Assistant

We call them cousins, and they spend time with counselors and their campers, assisting with activities, and also building relationships with the campers. They also participate in a drama that the kids just love! The skits go along with the theme of the camp and relate well to the children we serve.

Registration Helper

This is an at-home role, assisting with registering the kids the day they leave for camp. This includes welcoming children & foster parents, packing luggage on the bus, and helping the kids get their t-shirts and name tags. If you want to help but cannot get away for the week, this is a great option!

Part-Time Assistant

Several of our camp events require extra help: A big birthday party for all the campers, a luau, or a cowboy day! You can help with these events, visiting the campground for a day or more, depending on your availability. Campers also need help with fishing, archery, and at our activity centers. If you can only dedicate a limited amount of time this is an option to still help!
